Voki Famous Women Project-Sarah Palin

2 comments:

  1. Hello, I am Sarah Palin. I was born on February 11, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho. When I was 3 my family and I moved to Alaska. During high school I was on our state-champion basketball team and won Miss Wassilla. Later, I went on to be the runner up for Miss Alaska. I am still a zealous hunter and outdoor enthusiast though. In 1987 I graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelors degree in journalism and became a sports reporter in Anchorage. Later on, I married Todd Palin, my high school sweetheart. By 1992 I decided to go into politics and by 1996 I was elected the mayor of Wasilla. As mayor, I cut property taxes, reduced spending, put more money into public safety, and effectively used the system of congressional earmarks. After losing an election in 2002 and being put into the “Oil and Gas Conservation Commission” chair of Alaska I ran for governor of Alaska. It was a tough election, but I won and became governor in 2006. Next, in 2008 I ran for Vice President with John McCain. We were the runners up. Since then, I have written a memoir and started my own talk show. Thanks to my family, teachers, friends, and inspiring politicians I have become the woman I am today

  2. I chose Sarah Palin because she shows all of the required traits greatly while still displaying a bubbly personality. She also addresses all members of the public as she would address the supreme ruler of a country, treating everyone equally. We relate I believe because we both aren't afraid to express our opinions.( this was suppose to be included in my recording but my phone cut me off and will not let me record past a minute and 1 second)
